About the event

The Longest Pastry Table brings run clubs and runners from all five boroughs to one communal table on Driggs Ave, right by McCarren Park on the weekend before the NYC Marathon. Bring a carb, grab a seat with your club or with new friends, and kick off taper week together. It runs on the Longest Table (opens in new tab) model, which started in 2022 and has since spread to communities across the country.

Cost: Free! Space on the street is limited, so RSVP to hold your seat.

Bring: A carb to share. Please label anything with common allergens. It is a potluck. Bring something from your kitchen or your favorite bakery. Local bakeries are adding to the spread.

Seating: Seating is open, so grab any open seat. Greeters will be on hand to point you toward available spots. Run clubs, bring your members and sit together! No club? We have a seat for you too.

frequently asked questions

Do I need to be in a run club?

No. Choose "No club" on the RSVP and join us. Seating is open, and our greeters will help you find a spot.

Who will I sit with?

Seating is first come, first served. Put your run club in your RSVP so we know who's coming, then sit with your club or meet someone new. Greeters will help direct you to open seats as you arrive.

Is it really free?

Yes, just RSVP.

Can I bring a friend?

Yes. Have them RSVP separately so we have a seat for them.

I have a food allergy. What should I know?

Tables will be labeled with allergen information for donated food, but potluck dishes come from many kitchens, so use your judgment.

What if it rains?

This event is rain or shine. We'll monitor the weather and make a judgment call day of the event.

Can my bakery or business get involved?

We'd love to have you. Email hello@pastryrunners.com (opens in new tab).

How do I volunteer?

Check the volunteer box on the RSVP form, or sign up with our volunteer form (opens in new tab). We're looking for help with check-in, greeting, setup, cleanup, and photo/video.

What is a table captain?

Table captains are volunteers who help bring people to the event, set up their table, and tidy it afterward. You don't need to be in a run club to be one. Check the volunteer box on the RSVP form or sign up with our volunteer form (opens in new tab).
